When the care coordinator with StemRenue contacted me on MSrelief.com asking if I had ever thought of Stem Cell Treatment I had to say the only thing I knew was what Holly Huber shared in her YouTube video when she received stem cell therapy in Panama, I didn’t know of any place in the United States that provided the procedure.
I was told about a doctor right in Florida, United States who does the Autologous Adipose Stem Cell Treatment.
‘Autologous’ is a medical procedure in which stem cells are collected and later given back to the same person.
There are no ethical or moral issues involved in harvesting Autologous Adult Stem Cells.
Our stem cells are stored (among other places) in a layer of fat, the Adipose. Extracting the stem cells from adipose is done by liposuction.
With liposuction, a small sample of adipose tissue is removed. Upon completion, the stem cells are separated and in my case approximately 400-500 million cells were harvested.
Removing stem cells with liposuction is easier and less invasive than obtaining stem cells from bone marrow, it also contains more mesenchymal stem cells than from bone marrow. Mesenchymal stem cells have enormous therapeutic potential for tissue repair.
I was given medication for sedation, then another drug to weaken the blood-brain barrier.
After the stem cells were separated from the fat, they were married to my blood and injected back into the peripheral vein. The stem cells were drawn in through the blood brain barrier and also injected into my thigh muscles.
The Adipose Stem Cell Procedure only took a few hours. Because the adipose tissue was removed from my body in a sterile environment and remained there until it was put back into my body there was no problems with cell rejection or infection.
There’s no risks or side effects and the procedure was painless. Having said that, we all need to keep in mind that every procedure does have its risks, nothing is 100% guaranteed but this clean and sterile clinic makes the risk of infection very low.
When I woke up from the treatment, I felt alert and clear-headed. As I sat up and began to walk, I didn’t feel any dizziness or pain. The area where the liposuction was performed (my right thigh) was wrapped securely in a cloth bandage. When I removed the bandage there was another gauze bandage taped over the actual liposuction site. Upon removing that bandage, all I saw was an incision the size of a pinprick.
I visited the doctor the next day for a follow-up appointment. The doctor explained that I’ll probably see results from the treatment in 6 months. If I see improvement he encouraged me to return for another treatment.
Knowing I’d be sitting on a plane, traveling back to Alaska, he instructed his assistant to re-wrap the liposuction site on my thigh.
Any anxiousness or concern that I felt before I started this procedure was laid to rest as I flew home.
Now I’ll continue to live my life as I have for the past few years. I’ll continue to eat right, exercise, fill my mind with positive thoughts, spend time everyday in prayer and watch my health continue to improve!
