Pharmaceuticals and No Insurance? Don’t Sweat

If you’d like to get on a pharmaceutical to slow the progression of MS and you don’t have insurance, all is not lost.

I only researched Gilenya but my guess is that the other MS drug companies will have the same type of programs. If you’d like to get on a pharmaceutical and you don’t have insurance, all is not lost.

When the doctor prescribes Gilenya, the Doctors office will most likely call the Gilenya Support Program 1-877-408-49471-877-408-4947. You will need to call them also and they will work closely with you and your Doctor.

When you contact Gilenya’s support program you’ll be assigned a nurse navigator. The navigator is available to answer all your questions. If she can’t answer right away, she’ll either direct you elsewhere or call you back with the answer.

COPAY ASSISTANCE

If you have insurance, your nurse navigator with Gilenya will tell you about the co-pay assistance. Different insurance coverage leads to different co-pay amounts, but for me with Gilenya, the co-pay assistance does exactly that, pays the $30 that my insurance doesn’t cover.

PATIENT ASSISTANCE

If you don’t have insurance, you’ll be instructed how to receive patient assistance.

Basically with the help of your Doctor, the nurse navigator will pre-screen you for eligibility over the phone. If qualified you’ll be sent to Novartis, the drug manufacturer.

Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation believes that all Americans deserve access to quality health care. They will help you find a resource that allows you to access programs that may help you pay for your Novartis medicines.

Novartis has a Patient Assistance Program and will give you an application as well as information on programs that can help you pay for your medication.

Novartis understands financial challenges and wants to help.

When a patient is financially in need, Novartis will search for alternative funding then depending on approval will give you complete assistance and provide Gilenya for you.

I only researched Gilenya, I bet the other MS drugs have the same type of assistance when no insurance is available.

Many people with MS choose not to get on a Pharmaceutical Therapy and use alternative therapies instead. Prokarin is an alternative treatment that works for my friend Darlene Davis. Dawn Trulini has tried 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide and we’re following her progress.

I would love to hear what treatments you’re using and how they are affecting your MS. If you’re willing to share, simply click on the CONTACT tab above and write me a letter or leave a comment below and I’ll get back with you.

  2. All in all, there’s no longer need for patients who are suffering from Multiple Sclerosis to feel worried about their situation in life since it is absolutely possible for them to get a pharmaceutical assistance even if they do not have an insurance. It’s a blessing that someone like these assistance providers are willing to help when you need them in difficult times.
