Power of Thoughts and the Written Word

The Power of Words! Sound, intention, words, written words, they all impact our soul!! I wouldn’t have believed it, not in a million years!

My 16-year-old daughter (now 17) watched a YouTube video with me of Dr. Masaru Emoto’s experiment on water.

As soon as the movie was over, Lilli jumped up and did the experiment for herself.

She cooked a cup of rice, evenly divided it into two clear plastic drinking glasses and filled them with tap water. She created two labels and taped them to the outside of the drinking glasses so that the words could be “read” by the contents of the cup. On one label she wrote LOVE and on the other cup the paper said YOU SUCK (spoken like a true teen- I’d have said HATE.)

She set them by the stove in the kitchen, right next to each other, just like you see in the picture.

At the beginning of her experiment, she would talk to the cups of rice. To the LOVE cup she would say kind and complementary words. To the other cup she would say mean and hateful words. After a few weeks (I wish we would have written the date!) the Love cup was crystal clear, the “you suck” cup was growing mold. Amazing!! You can see it for yourself!

“One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can’t utter.”

  2. That is such a good post. Definitely makes me think

  3. Hi Linda,
I love this post. This experiment shows that our words and thoughts carry a powerful vibration that can have either a positive or negative affect on everything.

It’s so important for people to have this awareness!!

    Thanks for sharing this Linda.

  4. In the beginning was the Word! Thanks for sharing such a powerful demonstration. I had read about Emoto’s work, but to actually witness it this way is so powerful. We have so much more choice than we know.
Thanks for opening the door a little wider,

  5. Hi Linda,

This is such a thought provoking video. Makes you appreciate how important being a loving person is. You fill that role nicely.

    Love, Eileen Stanton

  6. Hello Linda,

I remember hearing about something similar to this experiment a while back, although I think it was with a plant not water.

    They did the same test.

One plant was spoken to with kind, loving words and the other plant with mean, damning words.

The end result was, the plant who recieved kind words, flourished, while the plant recieving damning words met an untimely demise.

There truly is power in words, especially the words we speak to ourselves. Because, we are quick to believe what we think and say about ourselves more so than what others think and say about us.

I believe I read it somewhere in the bible, (paraphrasing,) you shall have what you say.

    Makes you think doesn’t it/

Therefore, think before you speak, because it could come back to haunt you or bless you.

    Thing is, you/we decide.

    Thanks for sharing,

  7. That’s amazing. I would never have believed it!

Some things are beyond explanation I guess.

  8. Great article! That is the kind of information that should be shared across the net. Disgrace on Google for now not positioning this post higher! Come on over and discuss with my web site . Thank you =)
