September 2012 Walking update ~ Walkers and Grandkids

Hugo Portable Rollator Walker with SeatLife with MS, what a roller- coaster it is! Grandkids can bring such joy even when a walker is needed when walking!

On September 1st I was feeling so strong, walking a little with a cane and putting my shirt on while standing! Three days later, the day I typed this text for my update, I couldn’t get out of bed, my feet were stuck!!

Thank goodness for my husband who helped me up!

As I was trying to make it to the bathroom, using the walker at a snails pace, my grandkids woke up to greet me. All 3 of them are under 5 years old, excited to say good morning with smiling faces.

I muttered a comment like, “I wish I could walk.” My almost 5 year old grandson said, “But Grandma, you are walking, with a walker!”

So as they were running off to get some cereal I muttered to myself, “I don’t want to live like this for 40 more years…” By the time I was pressed and dressed and in to the kitchen for breakfast, my daughter told me that the same grandson had said, “We have to be nice to grandma because she’s the most loving of all.”

If it’s going to be 40 more years, there is always something to enjoy!

Tell me what you has brought you joy during your life with MS~ I’d love to hear!

ps. If you’re needing a walker, you can get one from right here!

  1. Well said Linda. Kids really have shortage of sense 🙂

  2. Linda,
Children can be such a blessing and brighten our days with their love, as your grandchildren did that day for you! Thank you for sharing the story of that day! You are courageous and your commitment to find joy each day is inspiring, as is your video update. Loved it!

You are so right, the grandkids bring joy to my life every day, except of course when they don’t, because like Dr. Seuss said, “Sometimes they won’t.”
